blisters for bread
How it all began
In 1968, staff and learners from the Savio College in Lansdowne, along with PSFA, initiated a fun walk to raise funds for PSFA's school feeding programme. Having been successful in their first few efforts, it was decided to stretch the boundaries and have a BIG walk, in which school staff and learners and the community were invited to participate. At this point, PSFA took over the responsibility and ownership of Blisters for Bread.
Now in its 45th year, Blisters for Bread will take place on Sunday, 25 August 2013, and we would like to encourage all our past walkers to take up the challenge again this year and join us for a day of family fun. Bring your family, friends and work colleagues and make it a day where you reconnect with your community, all the while supporting PSFA and hungry school children.
Last year we had a record number of more than 15800 walkers and this year we are hoping to beat that. Entries cost R42 which will cover the cost of feeding 21 children a nourishing meal. Group entries are open until 10 August and individual entries are open until 18 August. Don't miss out on this fun, family outing!
To take part in the build up to the event, and for all the latest Blisters for Bread info use #Blisters on Facebook and Twitter. Post pictures of you and some friends signing entry forms, or getting ready for the event.
All funds raised are directed to our school feeding programme so that we can feed even more learners.
Come and support us on Sunday the 25th of August. Further details to follow shortly.
