FEEDING CHILDREN
March 1958 PSFA was established and co-operation with Department of Education was initiated
June 1958 PSFA feeding 23 000 children in 64 primary schools
December 1958 PSFA feeding 43 000 children in 107 primary schools
December 1959 PSFA feeding 54 000 children in 123 primary schools
1958 - 1991 The PSFA was funded wholly by public donations
1992 Government subsidies were received through the Food Aid Fund of the National Nutrition and Social Development Programme
1995 The PSFA began receiving subsidies from the Government's Primary School Nutrition Programme
July 2001 PSFA feeding 64 392 children in 368 primary schools
April 2003 PSFA feeding 86 650 children in 436 primary schools
April 2004 Department of Health hands over the Primary School Nutrition Programme (PSNP) to the Department of Education. PSFA feeding 82 000 children in 430 primary schools
April 2005 to March 2008
Department of Education awards PSFA 510 schools to feed 117 000 children. PSFA feeding 100% of NSNP schools in the Peninsula
April 2008 to March 2010
Department of Education allocates 540 schools and 137 000 children to PSFA, across 10 Education Management and Development Centres (EMDCís)
