PSFA Volunteers

PSFA volunteers

In diverse communities across the Western Cape, unemployed women volunteer their time to prepare nutritious cooked meals and brown bread sandwiches. What brings them to school is knowing that to the precious children they serve, school feeding is more than a cooked meal. Many children come to school specifically for that one meal as it is their only source of necessary nutrition for the day.

These women spread peanut butter and jam on brown bread, and prepare steaming bowls of nutritious stew with the knowledge that in so doing, they also spread hope to our next generation and nourish the future of their community.

PSFA volunteers

Peninsula School Feeding Association would like to extend our sincere thanks to our 1,400 voluntary preparers who lovingly dedicate their time to ensure that our children are fed nutritious meals daily. We couldn't do it without them!

PSFA would also like to recognise the core group of dedicated volunteers that run our monthly book sales in malls around Cape Town. These ladies ensure that PSFA and the children we serve are prominent in the hearts and minds of the general public through their dedication, commitment and knowledge of the Association.
