PSFA expands its footprint in the FET sector

In 2015 PSFA started a pilot feeding programme at two FET Colleges namely; False Bay College in Khayelitsha and Northlink Campus in Parow. The impact of the programme at the Northlink Campus in Parow, impressed the management that they approached PSFA to be a service provider, providing a lunch meal for 2931 students at the other six Northlink campuses in Cape Town.

We kick-started the programme in February, with preparation of meals happening centrally at the Tygerberg Northlink Campus. Our fieldworkers spent the first week assisting and guiding the preparers in the preparation of the meals. The samp and beans meal has been a great hit with students.

This initiative is similar to the service that PSFA has provided in the past to the Western Cape Education Department, through its Provincial School Nutrition Programme. This partnership with Northlink will assist us in expanding our footprint in a sector where the need for feeding hungry students is as evident as in the schooling sector.
